40 years after Phillip Goodhand-Tait and the Stormsville Shakers from Guildford, Surrey, UK first played their brand of r'n'b & r'n'r, touring with US rock legend Larry Williams in the sixties and playing clubs such as London's Allnighter, the Flamingo, the Marquee, the Ricky-Tick venues, Sheffield's Mojo club, Manchester's Twisted Wheel, Hanley's The Place, Nottingham's Boat clubs and Newcastle's Club Ago-go, the band reformed to produce exciting new recordings with songs penned by PG-T, their singer-songwriter piano-player and featuring original band members (see Band History) and hot new talent with superb horn arrangements from David Sherrington.
The new recording set-up makes available both early recordings from 1965 - 1969 from the Stormsville Shakers and Circus, as well as the latest recordings and performances from the re-energised baby-boomers themselves. Put aside the synthetic, an on-going blast of fresh, real musicianship is to be found right here, right now.
| We have a new section on this website called 'Memory of the Month'. Please check back regularly to read peoples' recollections of the Stormsvilles in the 60s, or why not add one yourself? There's a free CD for any contribution that we use! |
